Hawthorne Heights Assorted

Alright, I have a little bit of a guilty pleasure here. Well, not so much their older stuff but their latest efforts. I even went as far as pre-ordering the album from iTunes because I love those bonus tracks... plus the digital booklet has the lyrics for the bonus tracks... which is pretty neat. I listened to a clip of "Watching And Waiting" and it sounds like a really good one but I haven't given the new songs a listen yet so I have no idea what to expect from them. The band was also kind enough to give us an acoustic rendition of their single "Nervous Breakdown". I don't know how many people did whatever they had to do to get it but I found mine in a torrent (so no silly Facebook shit for me :D). Now I'm still waiting on the 2 other bonus tracks that people got from ordering a ticket... but I'm sure they will show up sooner or later.

The songs are all 256kbps.

Circa Survive - Pre-Order Fun

Oh boy, I'm finally posting some stuff again... yeah I've been a slacker. Here are a couple of live acoustic tracks that Circa Survive performed right as Blue Sky Noise was being released. Those of us who pre-ordered the album through Atlantic Records received download links for 2 of the songs that were performed. I know a month ago someone posted a link for these in the comments of one of the other Circa Survive posts but I bet a few of you missed that. So here you go.

The songs are 320kbps mp3.

Circa Survive - Live Acoustic Bonus Tracks:
01. Imaginary Enemy (Live Acoustic At Atlantic's Studio 1290)
02. Strange Terrain (Live Acoustic At Atlantic's Studio 1290)

*Yes, the link is here somewhere. It isn't THAT hard to find. Just precaution...

Confide - iTunes Bonus Tracks

Sorry about the delay in posting ...there hasn't been anything I really wanted recently ...at least nothing with bonus tracks. Confide has their new album coming out tomorrow but it is currently available on iTunes and you are able to just get the 2 bonus tracks for 99 cents a piece. I'm glad I didn't have to drop $12 tonight just to get a couple of songs so now I can just go out and get a physical copy of the cd whenever I get a day to myself.

Both tracks are 256kbps mp3.

*I'm using Megaupload for this post so tell me how it is.

Coheed & Cambria - Guns Of Summer 7"

SOOOOOOOO.... basically I almost shit myself when I finally found this song. What I'm referring to is Pearl Of The Stars (Big Beige Demo Version) from the Guns Of Summer 7". This was a Record Store Day exclusive release on a gorgeous picture disc. I did manage to order a copy cause a few were left over so I should be getting that sometime. Otherwise, here is the whole reason I wanted the 7".

I have no idea who ripped this because I found it on megaupload...but here is their credit. THANK YOU MAN OF MYSTERY. I hope you don't mind if I share it on my blog.

The song is 320kbps. I'm assuming it's a vinyl rip so no complaining.

McGangBang

So, for the first time ever, I tried the McGangBang. I must say...I feel like a fat piece of shit now. For those of you who don't know, a McGangBang is a McChicken sandwich wedged between the meat patties of a McDouble. Now I prefer my McDouble with just cheese so my sandwich was quite clean. Maybe next time...I'll try it with a Big Mac. Anyway, here is a pic of this sandwich.

Against Me!

YAY!!! More b-sides. I was once again left out of this loop. Little had I know that Against Me! released the I Was A Teenage Anarchist EP to our digital retailer friends. I had only found this out a few days ago while I was getting a cover art image for the I Was A Teenage Anarchist 7" (which I placed an order for online so hopefully I'll get it). The EP contains the title track, another album track, and 2 delectable b-sides. Since White Crosses leaked online I only grabbed the 2 b-sides from iTunes. Now I had read somewhere that the album will contain 4 bonus tracks...it is unknown if these 2 will reappear or if it will be 3-4 different tracks...but at least this is a good head start.

Well, the 7" single release included an acoustic arrangement of the title track on its' b-side. Now this isn't my rip, I found it while surfing the vast internet ocean...but I figured I would share it with you anyway. I sure hope it is enjoyable for you...cause it certainly is for me. Soon enough, as I am dearly hoping, I will be able to crank this thing up on my turntable.

All tracks are 256kbps mp3.

Coheed & Cambria - Hush

It is time for some Friday fun...with this elusive iTunes exclusive. If you didn't know, iTunes had failed the people who preordered the deluxe edition from their store (something along the lines of Hush having problems). Many of the people who preordered the album instead just got the regular edition and the two deluxe tracks you could get. Now, in some grand stupidity, they fixed the problem but made Hush album only. Way to double screw over your shoppers. Since I REALLY wanted that song...I dropped $13.99 on it...instead of the $1.29 I thought the single track would be. I kept a tight leash on the track until today...which I'm now giving it out to the world.

Hush is a soft rocking song that definitely has the feel of not having a home on the album. I watched the 'Making Of The Album' video that came with the iTunes deluxe edition/physical deluxe edition and it was said that they did 2 different batches of songs. One of the first songs they recorded was When Skeletons Live. Hush seems to have the same recording quality so I'm assuming it was recorded in the first batch of songs. Don't take my word on any of this...it's all assumptions ;)

Song Quality = 256kbps mp3

Moneen - The World I Want To Leave Behind

I decided now would be a good time to dip back in a little bit of my catalogue. Toward the conclusion of 2009 Moneen released their 4th studio full-length, The World I Want To Leave Behind. First thing I did was buy it off iTunes for the 2 exclusive tracks...which I am posting here now. Now some years ago, when I lived in Pennsylvania, I had the opportunity to see them at some dinky bar on a Wednesday evening for $10. There were maybe about 20 of us there but it was possibly one of my favorite shows ever. I stayed after and met the members of the band and they autographed my copy of The Red Tree. I waited for a couple of years to pass before they released their latest album, I bought it on iTunes and found out they were doing a vinyl pressing...limited to 500 on translucent gold. I jumped all over this and at the same time got me a copy of Hold That Sound. Now I hope that I can meet up with them again to get that autographed perhaps get a few good pics with them.

Now for the songs...Alright, these are the iTunes album only tracks Dark & Ugly and Angels. The prior also appeared on the vinyl pressing of The World I Want To Leave Behind and included a passage about the meaning of the song...not unlike what I type on this blog. Both of these songs are slower tracks and are great for winding down the album after the 6 minute brutality of The Glasshouse.

Both songs are 256kbps mp3.

The High Wire - Bound To Follow

If you haven't seen my previous post of The High Wire material than you don't know that I do a little bit of shopping on the iTunes store. Now I very much so enjoy their work...even to the point where I have become of fan of theirs on Facebook. I was a bit surprised this morning to find out they released a b-side from their release Ahead Of The Rain through iTunes...and this was over a week ago. I guess this means I need to pay more attention to my Facebook (and the status updates of my friends). Quickly, I proceeded to purchase the song for a meager 99 cents and wedged it in its correct position on the album (between The Watch and Tigers). I would like to conclude with 2 apologies to the band...first for being a neglectful ass and not keeping up with release info and second for sharing it to the rest of the web for the low, low cost of about 15 seconds of YOUR LIFE.

With the song clocking in at 2:21, Bound To Follow is a short injection of relaxation in the ep/mini-album. Now I can't say it does much to alter the flow of the album but it will certainly make you feel like a complete-ist (real word?) like myself.

The song is 256kbps mp3.
